  1. Great information, it is true that you have to wear many hats while running a small business. Before you get enough people working with/for you there will be a lot of different things that you will have to do yourself. Again, nice infographic, it was really informative. 🙂

  2. They key to good business intelligence is managing your data. Only if you manage your data properly will you be able to make a decent analysis based on that data. The next step is to find the right tools. If you’re running a web business then Google Analytic is a good start but to take it to the next level you need other more advanced tools like HubSpot, MixPanel etc.

    1. Of course. I personally prefer people start somewhere small and simple (though Analytics can be quite confusing) rather than be paralyzed at all the tech and not start at all.

  3. Nice infographic, actually managing data such as gathering and data analysis is really important for business. It is the most element that make you sense about how to success with business, and/or how to kick starting.

  4. Thanks for the infographic! And I completely agree with you that it’s better to start with something simple. However, the majority of BI software is just too complicated to start with. They packed with tons of features you just don’t need. On the other hand, handling everything in various spreadsheets is tough when your business is growing. This is exactly the problem we are trying to solve at Capsidea – to create a simple business analytics tool for small companies. (sorry if it sounds like a pitch, but I just can’t leave your article without the comment). Again, thanks for the post.

    1. That’s OK Maria, in the past I always seeked ‘power’ tools but realized this is just holding me back. You know the whole paralysis thing. So now I’d prefer to go simple, outgrow it first then move on.
