One of my blog visitors emailed me a couple day ago to compliment me on my blog, and we ended up connecting on the phone yesterday. Besides making a new friend and potential business partner, she said something that got my attention. I won’t get this exactly right, but it was something like:
"There’s nothing out there for people like us (solopreneurs), and people are starved for the kind of information you provide."
I always pay close attention to the language people use. It can tell you so much more that what’s actually coming out of someone’s mouth. As you’re out and about among your network, start listening for words that are a bit extreme. Words like:
- starved or starving
- wish
- really want
- need
- love
- hate
As I always preach, forget marketing and feed your network. Of course, you first need to know what they’re starved for.
