Captain Denny, United’s VP of Customer Satisfaction
Think about the last time you flew on a commercial airline. What was special about it? Anything that made you want to fly that particular airline the next time you take off? Southwest Airlines is well-known for it’s phenomenal customer service, but this story by Jeffrey Mayer might have you considering United as your next carrier.
"While I’m dozing off in my seat a voice comes
over the PA system announcing our flight. My ears perk up.‘I’m Captain Denny Flanagan.
‘Welcome aboard. I’ll be your pilot today. I want you to know that your plane is in good shape, and so am I.
‘This is my first flight… Today. We expect to have a smooth flight to Chicago this afternoon. I take your safety very seriously and each and every one of you are my number one priority.’
"Hmmm." I said to myself. Can’t remember the last time I heard a pre-boarding announcement like that. Especially from the pilot."
How’s that for connecting with your customers? That kind of attention is sure to crank up the brand meter in the hearts and minds of customers. And it gets even better. Captain Denny is ALL that. Thanks to David Garfinkle for the link.
